HOW TO CHOOSE THE PERFECT WEDDING VIDEOGRAPHER

A videographer plays an extremely important part in capturing the memories of your wedding day.   The last thing you want is an obtrusive cameraman that captures anything and everything except what you consider to be the most important aspects of your day.  Hopefully the tips below will help you choose wisely.

Our Number One Tip for brides and grooms

It pays you to look after your videographer.

His time and energy should be spent in filming your day, rather than trying to find your venue, lugging his equipment a long way, for lack of a nearby parking space or struggling to keep up his concentration due to not having eaten for hours.

Assigning someone (other than the bride or groom) who you know will look out for him will be a wise move. Ensure that they are aware of his needs beforehand, so that there are no stressful, last minute emergency plans needed on the day. Basically, he will need clear directions to each of the venues, or better still a guide, if there is more than one, especially if it is not straightforward. He will need to be allocated a parking space, as near as possible to the venue. He will normally have a long day working and being as creative as he can to make your DVD a beautiful finished production. This will be all the harder if he is hungry and if he has to go off himself in search of something to eat, he may well miss that all important shot. So ensure that food and a place to eat it is allocated to him, if possible, in the same room as the guests so that he is able to see what is happening and pick up his camera spontaneously if needed.

His camera might run on batteries, but he doesn’t!
