BEAUTIFUL BRIDES

by www.sarahbmakeup.co.uk

Every bride wants to look radiant on her wedding day. Your wedding day will see you be the centre of attention for the entire day. Everyone will be looking at you so you want to look your best. As your makeup plays an important role in complimenting your features, gown and accessories, it is important to apply beautiful makeup, so why not take a few tips from a professional makeup artist? Sarah Brock is a fully trained makeup artist, and is the Artistic Director of Makeup for celebrity makeup artist Daniel Sandler, and represents his range in Wiltshire & the South West.

In order to achieve a flawless complexion and look fabulous for this special occasion, follow these simple steps:

  • Start with a good skincare routine. Cleanse, tone and moisturize.

  • Use a primer. This will make your foundation last much longer, and will prevent the skin from shining, as well as filling in open pores and fine lines. Try the Daniel Sandler Retexturizing Primer (£13.50).

  • Choose a foundation that exactly matches your skin. Always check a foundation along the jaw line to be certain you will not be left with a tide-mark. Extend towards the neck area.  Look at the colour in natural daylight. This is the trick to finding the right foundation.  I recommend the Daniel Sandler foundation range (from £20.00) as there are 21 shades in each formulation, making it easy to find the perfect shade for your complexion.

  • Concealer is great to get rid of any unwanted shadows that still persist after the foundation. Use a small concealer brush to get rid of them.

  • To set the foundation and concealer in place, you need to use powder. Make sure it does not alter the colour of the foundation. Both foundation and powder should be the same colour. Try the Daniel Sandler On The Loose Translucent Powders (£14.50), there are 21 shades available to compliment your foundation.

  • If you want more colour, apply bronzer where the sun would naturally hit you, like on the forehead, temples, cheek bones and chin.

  • If you want a semi-matte, natural finish apply the powder with a brush. For a more matte, sophisticated look, use a puff. Some women only want powder in the areas they are prone to shining in. The choice is yours.

  • Apply blusher to the apples of your cheeks, blending upwards.

  • Use a light eye shadow all over the eyelid to open up the eye. Now you can apply the colour of your choice from the upper lash line to the crease of the eye. Blending is the key to good make up. Make sure you don’t leave any harsh lines.

  • A darker shade could be worn along the upper lash line, as close to the lashes as possible. You can also bring this shade to the lower lash line if you wish. In order to get more dramatic eyes, you can apply a dark eye pencil in the inner rim of the eye.

  • Follow with two generous coats of black mascara. Try the Daniel Sandler Jet Mascara (£10.00), it glides onto the lashes and remains glossy all day long.

  • Whether you prefer lipstick or gloss, use a lip liner similar to the colour of your choice and blend using a cotton bud. This will prevent the lipstick/gloss from bleeding.

  • When applying lipstick, blot with a tissue and reapply to get a more lasting effect.
